NFL Week 3 Special Betting Props, Odds, and Predictions

During the NFL season, several sportsbooks in the United States come up with different types of prop bets each week, but these aren’t your typical prop bets. These are considered both “topical” and “special” betting props.

Every single week you can expect a bundle of these, and here’s what you get for Week 3:

NFL Week 3 Topical and Special Prop Bets

The Jalen Ramsey Saga With the Jacksonville Jaguars

Remember a time when all was well in Jacksonville with Jalen Ramsey and the Jaguars? Just back in 2017, this team was on the brink of being in the Super Bowl, but would ultimately lose to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship. And then to begin training camp here in 2019, Ramsey would show up in a friggin’ Brink’s truck! (And the Jaguars’ Twitter account embraced it, despite this being Ramsey’s way of telling them that he wants to get paid.) Yep, all was well in Jacksonville — well, for the most part.

And Then Came Week 2:

Where the Jaguars would suffer a heartbreaking one-point 13-12 defeat to the Houston Texans to put them at 0-2 for the season. In the process of this was a brief incident between Ramsey and head coach Doug Marrone, where it appeared even a few of Ramsey’s teammates would tell Marrone to go back to coaching the game and leave Ramsey alone. And then came the trade request from Jalen Ramsey to get shipped out of Jacksonville after the game. Yep, everything is no longer well in Jacksonville. (Though the tension was always there, let’s be honest.)

And then came entertainment and profit value for us in the form of prop bets, where we have a couple of different props in this particular set involving Jalen Ramsey. Now granted, they would get a solid 20-7 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 3, but it’s just one win. Let’s see if Jacksonville can continue the climb up the mountain, or go back to a downward spiral. Only time will tell, but you can bet on it.

Will Jalen Ramsey Be Traded Before the 2019 NFL Deadline

  • Yes: -300 | No: +200
  • BETTING PREDICTION: Yes (-300)

Which Team Will Jalen Ramsey Play for After the 2019 NFL Trade Deadline?

  • Jacksonville Jaguars +200
  • Kansas City Chiefs +250
  • Oakland Raiders +600
  • New England Patriots +600
  • Seattle Seahawks +1100
  • Philadelphia Eagles +1100
  • Green Bay Packers +1100
  • Cleveland Browns +1100
  • Dallas Cowboys +1100
  • San Francisco 49ers +1100
  • BETTING PREDICTION: Kansas City Chiefs (+250)
  • LONG SHOT PICK: Dallas Cowboys (+1100)

I think the reason why the Jacksonville Jaguars are the favorite at +200 betting odds to keep Jalen Ramsey, at least in the second bet, is because of human nature and us not liking change — but this is professional sports, where human nature doesn’t really exist like that, at least when it comes to the business side. With that being said, the Kansas City Chiefs at +250 would be an outstanding bet to place, and it makes a ton of sense why he would be shipped there. Not only do they need more incoming talent to take out the New England Patriots when it’s playoff time, but they also need someone to clean up their weak secondary — Jalen Ramsey can do that, plus more.

The Oakland Raiders makes some sense as well at +600, they’re also looking for an upgrade on the defensive side of the ball, and they’ll continue to make moves with Jon Gruden getting his roster together before the move to Las Vegas — on top of that, they’ll also want some franchise talent to bring with them to market before the big move. Here’s the only thing that scares me about the Raiders bet though: Would they be willing to risk bringing in a player like Jalen Ramsey after the Antonio Brown fiasco? Interesting indeed.

Take the Dallas Cowboys as a long shot pick for the simple fact that it’s Jerry’s World. That’s certainly a move I could see them making just to add a bit more spice to their already sexy team.

Daniel Jones Named Starting Quarterback for the New York Giants

After a 28-14 disaster loss to the in-state rival Buffalo Bills, the New York Giants would announce that their rookie quarterback from Duke University, Daniel Jones, would be the new starting quarterback for the team against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this weekend. After everything that was said from the franchise in the offseason, most pundits saw Eli Manning as the starting QB for the entire 2019 campaign — the owner of the franchise even said he wanted to see a similar situation as Brett Favre-Aaron Rodgers for the Green Bay Packers, where Rodgers sat behind Favre for years to learn behind the legend. But no, after just two weeks in the regular season, the two-time Super Bowl winning quarterback is being benched in favor of Jones.

It may be safe to say that the Eli Manning era is officially over, and with his contract ending this year, he may be on his way to retirement — not a bad career winning two rings in New York though, so Manning has nothing to frown about. From me personally, congratulations on a fantastic career, I’ll miss seeing you play in a Giants uniform. But now we begin a new era: Daniel Jones out of Duke University. Jones will be making his debut this weekend against a Tampa Bay pass defense that has been solid this season, containing the power of both Jimmy Garoppolo (San Francisco 49ers) and Cam Newton (Carolina Panthers). You have to think Jones has something to offer the Buccaneers though, he was great in preseason. Check out the stats yourself: 29/34, 416 YDS, 2 TDS.

And speaking of stats, you can bet on props involving Daniel Jones and how he does in his debut. Isn’t gambling great? It just adds to the entertainment value!

Daniel Jones Total Passing Yards in Week 3

  • OVER 260.5: -120| UNDER 260.5: -120
  • BETTING PREDICTION: UNDER 260.5 (-120)

Daniel Jones Total TD Passes in Week 3

  • OVER 1.5: +115| UNDER 1.5: -155
  • BETTING PREDICTION: UNDER 1.5 (-155)

Daniel Jones Total Interceptions in Week 3

  • OVER 0.5: -250| UNDER 0.5: +170
  • BETTING PREDICTION: OVER 0.5 (-250)

A Couple of More High-Profile Players Could Also Be Retiring

Adam Vinatieri (Indianapolis Colts)

He’s had such a great career, but this season has been a depressing one for the Super Bowl-winning kicker Adam Vinatieri. So far in the new campaign, Vinatieri has missed three extra points and two field goals, and all of this in just two weeks. After the game against the Tennessee Titans where the Indianapolis Colts would win, Vinatieri would tell the media that he would comment to them on Monday. When he said that, most were speculating that he was going to join former Colts quarterback Andrew Luck and retire in the middle of the season — after all, he’s 46 years old and his game is way off.

When Monday came, however, Vinatieri told reporters that retirement has never been a thought of his, and then he would carry on business as usual when Tuesday arrived. Like I mentioned though, Adam Vinatieri is 46 years old, and these conversations are always going to be circulating at this point until he retires

With that being the case, prop bets have been born that are involving a possible retirement for the future Hall of Famer:

Will Adam Vinatieri Retire After This Season?

  • Yes: -150| No: +110
  • BETTING PREDICTION: Yes (-150)

Ben Roethlisberger (Pittsburgh Steelers)

There are multiple reports out there that are saying that Ben Roethlisberger injured his UCL, and it also happens to be on his throwing arm. If that’s the case, Roethlisberger is expected to have an elbow surgery that is quite similar to Tommy John. During the offseason, Roethlisberger would sign a three-year contract extension with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he said he would also reclaim his health in order to bring the franchise another Super Bowl.

Even though this surgery is major and will cause him to undergo a great amount of rehab, it’s hard to see Big Ben retire when the season is over after the promise that he made to the team and fan base. On top of that, Mason Rudolph would be the quarterback next year for the Steelers if he did retire, I don’t think Roethlisberger wants to leave the only franchise that he’s ever known in that state — and I just can’t see him wanting to retire in this fashion of an injury. I fully expect Big Ben to be back next season. Wanna bet?

Will Ben Roethlisberger Retire Before Week 1 of the 2020 NFL Season?

  • Yes: -150| No: +110
  • BETTING PREDICTION: No (+110)

Step on Up! Come Bet on How Friggin’ Depressing the Miami Dolphins Are!

In Week 1, the Miami Dolphins would get blown out of the water (no pun intended) by the Baltimore Ravens, 59-10. However, they wouldn’t allow one defensive touchdown for any of those points. The next week against the New England Patriots, on the other hand, they would suffer two pick-six interceptions against them in a 43-0 shellacking.

As far as this weekend’s opponent in the Dallas Cowboys, they haven’t put up a defensive touchdown yet in the first two weeks of the season, so they may be overdue against Miami. And with the way recently promoted starting quarterback Josh Rosen played last year with the Arizona Cardinals and as bad as the Dolphins are period, you may want to consider the +400 bet below — there’s certainly a lot of profitability there, and it’s very realistic that it could happen.

Who Will Score More Touchdowns in Week 3?

  • Miami Dolphins Offense: -700| Dallas Cowboys Defense: +400
  • BETTING PREDICTION: Dallas Cowboys Defense (+400)

When you look at the Miami Dolphins’ chances of going 0-16 and examine their schedule, you have to say that it’s quite a reality. In fact, you end up asking yourself the question: Where exactly could their first win be? You could make the argument that it could come at the beginning of November when they play the New York Jets, but by that time rolls around, their quarterback Sam Darnold might be back from mono already.

The next argument that you could make comes all the way down at the bottom in Week 16 against the Cincinnati Bengals, but it depends if Cincinnati keeps their roster intact or not. If not, they’ll be competing for the top pick of next year’s NFL Draft, but the Dolphins seem to be way ahead of them there literally getting rid of all of their best players.

That’s the thing, Miami wants to lose. With all of that being said, I honestly don’t see a single win on their schedule. The Dolphins very well may go 0-16.

Will the Miami Dolphins Go 0-16 This Season?

  • Yes: +300| No: -500
  • BETTING PREDICTION: Yes (+300)

Can the New England Patriots Pull off the Unprecedented 19-0?

The New England Patriots are expected to be so dominant this season that there are three different bets that you can place that involves their superiority. And the numbers are telling as well: In the “Yes, The Patriots Will Go 16-0” bet, the odds keep increasing in New England’s favor (+1000 to +600 in a week), while the figures for an undefeated championship campaign went from 20-1 to 12-1. Both of the numbers for those bets would increase after hammering the Miami Dolphins, 43-0.

There are also other factors at play as well other than their level of dominance. You have Andrew Luck in retirement, an injured Ben Roethlisberger out for the year, the Cleveland Browns are the same old Cleveland Browns (at least for now) and Drew Brees is out for a good period of time for the New Orleans Saints over in the NFC. Of course, this is to take nothing away from the power of the New England Patriots, but it just shows you how much of a driver’s seat that the New England Patriots are in for an undefeated Super Bowl season — literally the only team I see in their way is the Kansas City Chiefs, and even then, good luck to Kansas City.

Will the New England Patriots Go 16-0?

  • Yes: +600| No: -1200
  • BETTING PREDICTION: Yes (+600)

Will the New England Patriots Go 19-0 and Win the Super Bowl?

  • Yes: +1200| No: -2500
  • BETTING PREDICTION: Yes (+1200)

Will the New England Patriots Post Another Shutout This Season?

  • Yes: +200| No: -300
  • BETTING PREDICTION: Yes (+200)
