Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury Prop Betting Odds and Predictions

The highly anticipated rematch in boxing today is finally taking place on February 22, 2020, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder will take on lineal heavyweight king Tyson Fury in a rematch of their December 1, 2018 bout held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. In that fight, Tyson Fury outboxed Deontay Wilder for 12 rounds but Wilder scored two knockdowns including a dramatic 12th round knockdown which many thought would end the fight. However, Fury rose from the grave and surprisingly beat the count to finish the fight on his feet. The bout ended in a split draw.

Wilder was a -160 favorite in their first bout and he is currently at -120as of February 18, 2020, at BetOnline.ag while Fury came back at +100 as of the same date. You can start making your bets as early as now but if you’re looking for more or other options outside the usual “who will win the match?” bet, then we have you covered. There are plenty of early prop bets that are related to the outcome of the bout and we have picked the ones that might be of interest to you.

Here are the best of the early prop bets for the biggest heavyweight boxing fight of the year. These odds were taken from BetOnline as of 2/14/20:

Deontay Wilder Round Betting

  • Wilder in Round 1 (+3300)
  • Wilder in Round 2 (+2500)
  • Wilder in Round 3 (+2000)
  • Wilder in Round 4 (+1800)
  • Wilder in Round 5 (+1400)
  • Wilder in Round 6 (+1400)
  • Wilder in Round 7 (+1400)
  • Wilder in Round 8 (+1600)
  • Wilder in Round 9 (+1800)
  • Wilder in Round 10 (+2000)
  • Wilder in Round 11 (+2500)
  • Wilder in Round 12 (+3300)
  • Wilder on Points (+800)

The Bronze Bomber is known for his out of this world punching power. Wilder has either knocked out or knocked down every opponent that he has faced and he has a 98% knockout ratio with all but one of his 42 wins coming by stoppage. Wilder’s last nine wins have come via knockout but his only blot in his last 10 fights was his split draw against Tyson Fury in 2018. Wilder almost knocked out Fury in the 12th round of that bout by the Brit made one of the greatest recoveries of all-time by beating the count. If Deontay Wilder wins this fight, it will be by knockout. However, when you have the Bronze Bomber on deck, the knockout can come at any round because Wilder has power from start to finish. It should be noted though that 20 of his 41 knockouts have come inside the first round. In this fight, I think that Wilder either blitzes Fury early when the latter has yet to get into the match or he starches him in the championship rounds when Fury has slowed down. The odds are highest at Rounds 1 and 12 but Deontay Wilder has more early than late stoppages so I have to go with history here.

PREDICTION: DEONTAY WILDER IN ROUND 1

Tyson Fury Round Betting

  • Fury in Round 1 (+8000)
  • Fury in Round 2 (+6600)
  • Fury in Round 3 (+5000)
  • Fury in Round 4 (+5000)
  • Fury in Round 5 (+4000)
  • Fury in Round 6 (+4000)
  • Fury in Round 7 (+4000)
  • Fury in Round 8 (+4000)
  • Fury in Round 9 (+5000)
  • Fury in Round 10 (+5000)
  • Fury in Round 11 (+6600)
  • Fury in Round 12 (+8000)
  • Fury on Points (+160)

Tyson Fury is known for his footwork, movement and his ability to box like a smaller fighter. But while he always outboxes his opponents, he is no slouch puncher. The Gyspy King has 20 knockouts in 29 wins including six out of his last 10 wins. However, Fury failed to score a knockout in the biggest win of his career. He outpointed Wladimir Klitschko in a boring but tactical boxing match that limited Klitschko’s punching ability. In his first fight with Deontay Wilder, Fury outboxed the WBC champion but never was Wilder hurt in the fight. We’ve also seen Wilder weather storms like surviving against Luis Ortiz so the Bronze Bomber is no easy knockout prey as well. If Tyson Fury wins this bout, he’s probably going to win on points because he can’t afford to try his luck and go toe to toe with the hardest hitting puncher in the history of the sport.

PREDICTION: TYSON FURY ON POINTS

Round Betting 3 Round Groups

  • Wilder in Rounds 1-3 (+900)
  • Wilder in Rounds 4-6 (+500)
  • Wilder in Rounds 7-9 (+550)
  • Wilder in Rounds 10-12 (+900)
  • Wilder by Decision (+800)
  • Fury in Rounds 1-3 (+2500)
  • Fury in Rounds 4-6 (+1600)
  • Fury in Rounds 7-9 (+1600)
  • Fury in Rounds 10-12 (+2500)
  • Fury by Decision (+160)
  • Draw (+2000)

Before you make a bet here, you have to pick your winner first. If your winner is Fury, then go with Fury by decision. 30 of Deontay Wilder’s 41 knockouts have come within Rounds 1-3 and that includes two first-round knockouts in his last four wins. He knocked out Luis Ortiz in 12 rounds during their first bout and then stopped the Cuban in 7 in their rematch. I don’t think Fury has the same power as Ortiz nor does Wilder fear him more than Ortiz. I like the first three rounds here for Deontay Wilder because Fury will still be looking for his rhythm in these rounds. Wilder’s power will be there from the opening bell and I’m sure he doesn’t want to get into a long bout where he could be trailing on the scorecards.

PREDICTION: FURY BY DECISION OR WILDER IN ROUNDS 1-3

Method of Victory

  • Wilder by KO, TKO, or DQ (+125)
  • Wilder by Decision or Technical Decision (+800)
  • Fury by KO, TKO, or DQ (+500)
  • Fury by Decision or Technical Decision (+160)
  • Draw or Technical Draw (+2000)

No question here. This is a fight between a puncher and a boxer. If Deontay Wilder should win, it will be by knockout. If Tyson Fury is victorious, it should be by decision. I mean you pick the outcome for the fighter which you think will win. This could go either way. In my heart, I want Wilder to win by knockout but I won’t be surprised if Fury takes a decision here. When you take a look at the betting value, Fury on points has a better value at +160. It won’t hurt if I sprinkle at that.

PREDICTION: TYSON FURY BY DECISION OR TECHNICAL DECISION

Will the Fight Go the Distance?

  • Yes (-135)
  • No (+105)

Again, this bet will go down to which fighter you will pick. For me, I will go with Tyson Fury because while I think that Wilder is dangerous from the opening bell to the closing bell, I believe that Fury has more than what it takes to outbox him. We saw Luis Ortiz outbox Wilder in two fights, and Ortiz even outboxed him lopsidedly in their rematch when the Cuban had added another year and a half of age after their first encounter. Deontay Wilder can’t box, not at all. But his knockout power is the equalizer. Despite that, I think Tyson Fury has the heart, the motivation, and most importantly the ability to outbox Deontay Wilder for 12 rounds.

PREDICTION: YES
