Biggest Betting Events of 2019 — October, November and December

It’s official! We’ve finally approached the last installment of ‘Biggest Betting Events of 2019’! And since we’ve approached the end, let’s go over the previous months that we’ve gone over.

In the first edition, we would go over the months of April and May. In April, we would cover events such as the NFL Draft, NBA Playoffs, Champions League, among others. When we get to May, we then arrive to the Eastern and Western Conference Finals in the NBA Playoffs — and not just that, but the NBA Finals begin on May 30 as well. Another soccer action happens in May also other than the Champions League, with both the Europa League and FA Cup holding their Final rounds. There would also be other prestigious events such as the 101st PGA Championship, Kentucky Derby and The Preakness Stakes. Among other events, you also have the 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500 that should be mentioned.

In our next installment, we would move into the summer covering the months of June and July, where there’s a slate of big events. In June, things get started off in a big way with the Final of the Champions League being held on the 1st. Other power events on the June schedule is the NBA Draft, U.S. Open in professional golf, Belmont Stakes, and another set of prestigious horse races in The Royal Ascot.

And then you have another power race, this time in the automobile field with the 24 Hours of Le Mans located just outside of Le Mans, France. On top of that, you also have the regular season series between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox overseas in London, England.

To go along with that, you have three Formula 1 races on the schedule. And that’s not all, there’s plenty of other events listed in June. In July, things slow down a bit, but we still have a solid selection of events to place a wager on with the British Open, The Championships of Wimbledon and two Formula 1 races with the British and German Grand Prix.

When we get to the dog days of August and September, things slow down quite a bit, but there’s plenty of action to make a buck. Here in the late summer starting in August, we have the U.S. Open in professional tennis, the Little League Classic between the Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates, an iconic regular season series between power brands New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers, the start of college football season, the FIBA Basketball World Cup, among a few others — including multiple Formula 1 races.

In September, the U.S. Open closes out with their final rounds, the New York Yankees and Texas Rangers go at it in the final series of the regular season, and on top of that, it’s the beginning of the National Football League. You also have other events including the prestigious Rugby World Cub and the AIBA World Boxing Championships.

In our next installment of this series, we get into fall leading into winter covering the months of October, November, and December. And lucky for us, the action picks up a bit.

Get your hoodies and jackets together, it may get a little cold.

OCTOBER

PRIX DE L’ARC DE TRIOMPHE | OCTOBER 5-6

It may not be the Kentucky Derby, but the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp has its fair share of heavy payouts. As a matter of fact, the prize pool for last year was 5 million Euros, with $2.857 million of it being awarded to the winner of the race. But wait: It does have the status of a Kentucky Derby, at least in Europe. It’s the continent’s most prestigious horse race.

And here’s another tidbit to throw in with that prestige: At the current moment, it’s the globe’s second rich race on turf. Odds:

  • 1. Enable (11/4)
  • 2. Sea Of Class (5/1)
  • 3. Almond Eye (8/1)

FORMULA 1 JAPANESE GRAND PRIX SUZUKA | OCTOBER 11-13

There’s a lot of high stakes in this event, and here’s why: The Japanese Grand Prix has been one of the last races on the Formula 1 schedule, and a result, and has helped decide 13 World Champions — this in just 30 World Championship Japanese Grand Prixs. So you already know the intensity will be high with this event, and will give us crazy odds and payouts. Expect the odds to be out a couple of weeks before the race, but here’s another cool tidbit about this Japan race: They were the only Asian nation until 1999 to be on the Formula 1 schedule.

FORMULA 1 BELGIAN GRAND PRIX SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS | AUGUST 30-SEPTEMBER 1

The Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps is apart of the Formula 1 World Championship, which obviously means prestige and heavy payouts. This race also brings a lot of history with it, with the first race being ran in 1925. And here’s an interesting part of that history: Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps was built in 1921, but it was only used for motorcycle racing up until 1924. However, after the success of the at-the-time new 24 hours of Le Mans in France, automobile racing was brought onto the circuit. Pretty cool, eh?

F1 MEXICAN GRAND PRIX AUTODROMO HERMANOS RODRIGUEZ | OCTOBER 25-27

The Mexican Grand Prix at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City, Mexico has quite the storied past. In 1962, it’s debut was as a non-championship race, and then in 1963, it got moved up to championship level — that carried on to 1970. After a 16 year absence, it would return back to the Formula 1 championship circuit from 1986-1992. But that’s not all. After another stage of inactivity, the Mexican Grand Prix would return to the Formula 1 championship circuit once again in 2015. (*takes breath*) Expect these odds to be out in early October.

WORLD SERIES | OCTOBER 22-30

We all already know what the World Series is… It’s the Fall Classic! And it’s full of history and prestige as it was first played in 1903 between the America League (AL) and National League (NL) champions, and still is. As we know, this series is determined in a best-of-seven format, so there will be plenty of opportunities to make some money in this one — at least with four games, and that’s just with game picks. Don’t forget prop bets, coming in a lot of cool (and weird) categories.

Current odds:

  • 1. Dodgers (+500)
  • 2. Astros (+500)
  • 3. Yankees (+550)

BATHURST 1000 | OCTOBER 10-13

Known as the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 due to sponsorship purposes, the Bathurst 1000 is an annual automobile race (620 miles, 1000 kilometers) ran on the Mount Panorama Circuit located in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia. And here’s the ‘prestige and payout’ tidbit: It’s currently a championship event for Supercars, a touring car racing category in Australia and ran as an International Series. Most races are either ran in Australia and New Zealand, but races have been held in China, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States before.

NOVEMBER

BREEDERS’ CUP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS | NOVEMBER 1-2

Along with the Triple Crown (Kentucky Derby, The Preakness Stakes, Belmont Stakes) of horse racing in the United States is the prestige of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships held at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California. The event was inaugurated in 1984 by Breeders’ Cup Limited, a company that was formed just two years prior in 1982. Here are the current odds to win the cup: 1. Accelerate (5/2) 2.West Coast (5/1) 3. Mind Your Biscuits (6/1) 4. Mckinzie (6/1) 5. Catholic Boy (8/1) As you see, the Top 5 odds are very tight.

MELBOURNE CUP | NOVEMBER 5

The Melbourne Cup is the cream of the crop in Australia when it comes to Thoroughbred horse racing. Held at the Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne, Victoria, this race is actually apart of an annual carnival: Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival. And here’s some great news for betters: The purse for the race is $7.3 million Australian dollars. As a result, the Melbourne Cup happens to be the richest “two-mile” handicap globally, and it’s one of the richest turf races in the world.

Current odds:

  • 1. Cross Counter (14.00)
  • 2. Avilius (21.00)
  • 3. Ghaiyyath (21.00)

RUGBY WORLD CUP | SEPTEMBER 20-NOVEMBER 2

“The rugby version of the Olympics” … So a Kiwi (New Zealander) had told me, and this is mainly due to a tournament being held every four years between top countries from all across the world. This rugby tournament is fairly new first being hosted by both New Zealand and Australia in 1987. Since then the event has spread globally and is being held in Japan this year in 2019.

Here are the current odds, with the All Blacks (New Zealand) of course being the favorite:

Here are the current odds as they stand for the men:

  • 1. New Zealand (11/10)
  • 2. England (5/1)
  • 3. Wales (6/1)
  • 4. Ireland (6/1)
  • 5. South Africa (7/1)

DAVIS CUP | NOVEMBER 18-24

Just like the Rugby World Cup, the Davis Cup is also an international event between different countries — the only exception is this particular event is men’s tennis. The Davis Cup is ran by the International Tennis Federation and is an annual knock-out format tournament that is between teams representing different countries. And also like the Rugby ‘World Cup’, the Davis Cup is also known as the “World Cup of Tennis”.

Plenty of prestige, plenty of payout. Current odds:

  • 1. Spain (7/2)
  • 2. France (5/1)
  • 3. United States (7/1)
  • 4. Australia (7/1)
  • 5. Croatia (11/2)

WBSC PREMIER 12 | NOVEMBER 2-17

Also known as the Premier 12 Baseball World Cup, this event is the top international baseball tournament ran by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC). The twelve best-ranked teams representing different countries from across the world compete in this tournament. The WBSC Premier 12 is only held every four years, and 2015 was the only year in action so far with South Korea taking the gold, the United States taking silver, and Japan holding the bronze. Right now, betting odds aren’t available, but they should be out sometime later this year.

DECEMBER

PUBG KOREA LEAGUE SEASON 2 FINALS | DECEMBER 1

Organized by the PUBG Corp., the PUBG Korea League is a competitive PUBG esport, and here in 2019, PKL (for short) is now one of the six Pro Leagues. For Season 2 in particular, it will be a Korean Qualifier for the PAI 2019. Season 1 consisted of twelve different tours: Five Pro Tours, six B Tours, and one A Tour. As you can tell, the league is fairly new, but it’s made strides very easily and quickly already being labeled as a major tournament in the esports world. Expect the odds for this event to be out sometime in November.

ESL PRO LEAGUE SEASON 8 FINAL | DECEMBER 4-9

Here we have a professional video game league specializing in ‘Counter-Strike: Global Offensive‘ known as the ESL Pro League, or EPL for short. It was formerly known as the ESL ESEA Pro League. Currently based in both North America and Europe with a total of 26 teams, 14 are in Europe and 12 are in North America. Meaning, it’s one of the major professional leagues in the world of eSports, and it also happens to be the top pro CS:GO league all across the globe. Odds for the Season 8 Final aren’t out yet, but after all, this happens in December.

PRESIDENTS CUP | DECEMBER 9-15

If you’re not familiar with the Presidents Cup, it’s a collective of men’s golf matches between a team representing the United States of America against the rest of the world — except for Europe. That battle between them and the U.S. is already taken care of at another event known as the Ryder Cup. And here’s what makes the event even more special: It’s not held every year. That’s right, it’s a biennial event and has been since 1994, meaning it’s only held every two years — take advantage.

Current odds:

  • 1. USA (4/9)
  • 2. Internationals (9/4)
  • 3. Draw (12/1)

IHF WORLD WOMEN’S HANDBALL CHAMPIONSHIP | NOVEMBER 30-DECEMBER 15

Since 1957, the International Handball Federation has been holding the IHF World Women’s Handball Championship — an event that Russia holds the most titles in with four. France would claim the championship last season for their second title. The number of teams competing in this tournament is 24, and speaking of the tournament itself, it’s only held every two years. In other words, take advantage, because next year you won’t have this betting opportunity. Expect these odds to be out sometime later this year.
